AQUASS is a subsidiary company of the APAVE Group since 2009. Its main activity is the study of the ageing and the determination of the residual lifespan of harbor machines and heavy lifting equipment.

Jacques Buisson, the founder, spent his entire career at the harbor of Bordeaux and created this company in 1995 in order to meet the needs for control of the ageing equipment detected among the persons in charge of harbor exploitation.

Jacques Buisson is also a legal expert attached to the Court of Appeal and the Administrative Court of Bordeaux.

AQUASS was mandated by the French government to perform a study on the French harbors. The scope was the control of the integrity on the lifting equipment. The result led to the development of CETMEF recommendations the relating to the special evaluation of the harbor cranes.

The results of this study make it possible to act, in a preventive way, on the appearance of current scenarios leading to more or less critical losses of harbor equipment integrity.

The partnership with APAVE makes it possible to benefit from competences and the means of the group in the areas calculations, instrumented diagnoses, and non-destructive testing, relying on a worldwide network of competencies.

AQUASS proposes different services which rise from the experience gained on the various international harbor sites.
